The lash tray audit: Restocking before busy season

Busy season is not the time to find out you're out of 11mm.

Before busy season hits, take a closer look at your lash inventory. A quick tray audit can help you identify the combinations you are actually running low on, so you can restock intentionally instead of panic ordering or adding trays that become dead stock.

Start with these three details: curl, diameter and length.

1. Check your curls individually.

Think about the curls you consistently reach for during appointments and make sure you have enough inventory to support the sets you are actually creating.

2. Audit your diameters.

For artists working with volume lashes, that means checking 0.03, 0.05 and 0.07 separately. Your most-used diameter deserves the closest attention. Having plenty of one diameter does not make up for being nearly out of another.

3. Go length by length

Check 8mm through 16mm and think about where each length fits into your typical maps, from inner corners and the main body to peaks, texture and outer corners.

The most important step is looking at the combination.

Instead of asking, “Do I have 11mm?” ask, “Do I have 11mm in the curl and diameter I actually need?”

That is where inventory gaps can hide.

4. Look at what you already own before adding another tray to your cart.

Ask yourself how often you use it, whether you already have enough and which combinations you consistently run through.

More trays do not automatically mean better inventory.

Audit your curl, diameter and length first. Then restock the real gaps, not just the shelf. This keeps your lash cart focused on the products you actually use and helps you head into busy season with a more intentional setup.
