What Comes In a professional Lash Kit (And What You Actually Need)
When dealing with professional lash kits, you might notice it comes with a lot of tools and this can be a bit overwhelming. We are here to tell you that this is completely normal! The truth is, while many kits include extra accessories, you only need a few key items to perform a safe and effective lash lift.
Let the Aki Lashes team sooth your nerves and we can break down what usually comes in a kit vs. what you actually need.
The 3 Main Solutions (The Most Important Part)
Every lash lift relies on a three step system that reshapes and sets the lashes.
Step 1- Lifting Lotion
Lifting Lotion softens the lashes and gently breaks down the natural bonds so they can be reshaped.
Step 2- Neutralizing or Setting Lotion
This step rebuilds the bonds and locks the lashes into their new lifted shape.
Step 3- Nourishing or Conditioning Serum
After the lift, this step helps hydrate and strengthen the lashes.
These three solutions, otherwise known as, the heart of the entire treatment, are included in every professional kit.
Silicone Shields or Rods
Silicone shields are what actually create the curl.
They sit on the eyelid, and the natural lashes are lifted onto them before applying the solutions. Most kits include several sizes like small, medium, large, and extra large so you can customize the lift depending on lash length.
Different sizes help you create anything from a soft natural lift to a more dramatic curl.
Lash Bonder Serum
A gentle, water-soluble adhesive helps keep everything in place during the service.
It's used to:
- Secure the silicone shield to the eyelid
- Hold the lashes onto the shield while they process
This step is crucial, without this step, the lashes will not stay positioned correctly.
Application Tools
Most kits also include a few small tools to help apply products neatly and separate the lashes.
Common tools include:
- Micro brushes for applying solutions
- Y-combs or lifting tools to seperate lashes
- Spoolie brushes for brushing and grooming
These tools make the process easier and help create clean, evenly lifted lashes.
Extra Items Many Kits Include
Some professional kits also add a few bonus items. These are helpful, but not absolutely neccessary.
Under-eye pads
These protect the lower lashes and skin during the treatment
Lash cleanser or primer
This removes oils from the lashes before starting the service
Lash tint
Some kits include tint so you can offer a lash lift and tint together
Accessories
You might also see items like mixing dishes, tweezers, gel eye patches, or storage cases.
These extras are mainly there to make the process more convenient.
